Created by Ashli St. Armant, The Yellowroot reimagines timeless folktales with the pulse of modern jazz and the soul of the juke joint experience. This magnetic production celebrates resilience, healing, and the spirit that binds us. Inspired by St. Armant’s research into cultural anthologies, interviews with elders and modern-day music-makers in New Orleans, step inside a world where every note carries a story. Commissioned by Chandler Center for the Arts & ArtPower UC San Diego with additional support from NPN Creation Fund.
