Justin Roberts
Biography

Two-time GRAMMY Nominee Justin Roberts is truly one of the “all-stars” of the indie family music scene.  For nearly 20 years, Justin has been creating the soundtrack to families’ lives, crafting songs that navigate the joys and sorrows of growing up. In 2016, Justin released his 13th recording for families titled Lemonade, a return to the simplicity of his earliest albums. He logs thousands of miles on the road each year and has traveled the globe performing from Hong Kong to New York, and Miami to Seattle.  With numerous national awards and a devoted fan base, Justin Roberts & the Not Ready for Naptime Players dish out unexpectedly intelligent and whimsically rocking music for kids and their parents.

In 2014, Justin composed a musical based on Hansel & Gretel with renowned playwright, Ernie Nolan. A new touring production featuring stunning animated projections produced by Valley Performing Arts Center and Playhouse Square will premiere on January 22, 2017 in Los Angeles.

Justin is the author of the picture book, The Smallest Girl in the Smallest Grade, illustrated by Christian Robinson, published by Putnam. The story of how one person can make a difference is inspired by his beloved song, “Billy the Bully” and has been incorporated into classrooms across the country.
